Thank you for taking the time to visit The Social Potter! I originally started this blog as part of a school project, but plan to take it to the next level, mixing my two loves- digital marketing and potter. While you don’t see a real pottery section right now, you will soon! Pottery is my way of taking a break from the all-consuming digital world!
As a digital marketer for the world’s largest wire and cable manufacturer, Southwire, I am in charge of content and social media strategy. In fact, by just mentioning my company’s name, I’m sure my co-worker will pick up this post using our reputation management software (Hi, Sara!!). While I am in change of content and social media strategy for my team, I really love digging into trenches with social media. I love talking with customers and interacting with our communities. I also really enjoy teaching social media ethics classes to high school students and coworkers.
I am a graduate student at the University of Florida (GO GATORS), where I am pursuing my masters degree in mass communication (in a new Social Media path, nonetheless)! I always love learning new things and I feel that social media gives you the ability to constantly grow and change in your career. I graduated from Georgia State University a few years back with my BBA in marketing.
In my free time, I enjoy volunteering with my company’s volunteer organization, Project GIFT. I am also a 12 for Life mentor (if you’ve never heard about 12 for Life, you should really check the program out)! I love couponing and spending my time with my two fur-babies, Maggie and Dixie. I am also very passionate about anthropological research and baseball (I know, I have strange hobbies).
Again, I’m really glad that you took the time to stop by the Social Potter. Please leave a comment so I know you stopped by!
And now for my favorite quote (keep this in mind all of you social media managers out there!):
“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game!” -Babe Ruth
Thanks for Visiting!
Sincerely,
Whitney Amerson, The Social Potter
